Tres conversaciones
NODE26 se organiza en torno a tres conversaciones independientes.
- Cada una explora el audio inmersivo desde un enfoque diferente.
- Cada asistente elige una conversación como mesa principal.

Where do we want immersive audio to go?
Why NODE26?
Last year, I conducted a survey on how immersive audio is being used in Latin America. The response far exceeded expectations, leading to two articles and numerous conversations about the actual conditions of working with immersive audio in the region.
One thing became increasingly clear:
The field is growing, but it remains deeply fragmented.
People are developing projects, researching technologies, teaching, producing, creating tools, and bringing immersive audio to audiences—often from vastly different contexts and without knowing who else is tackling similar challenges.
NODE26 stems from that reality.
It is a space to connect these experiences and ask ourselves:
What is really happening with immersive audio today?
Not through polished presentations or finished projects, but by exploring the questions, obstacles, and opportunities that emerge in the daily practice of those working in the field.
SLOT 01 — MAKING
What is stopping us from creating immersive audio?
A conversation about production, workflows, tools, technical knowledge, resources, infrastructure, and the conditions needed to bring immersive works and experiences to life.
- What makes production difficult?
- What are we still missing?
- What stands between an idea and actually bringing it to fruition?
SLOT 02 — LISTEN
What is stopping more people from listening to immersive audio?
A conversation about audiences, access, exhibition, distribution, education, and the ways immersive audio reaches—or fails to reach—people.
- What makes finding an immersive audio experience so difficult?
- Where does the experience break down?
- What needs to change so that more people can listen?
SLOT 03 — FUTURE
Where do we want immersive audio to go?
A conversation about the directions this field could take.
- What should we be building?
- What should we be challenging?
- What kind of ecosystem do we want to build around immersive audio?

How does the conversation work?
Each gathering brings together up to 15 people per slot on the same video call. No formal presentations, lectures, or panels: this is a space for conversation.
Everyone gets their moment.
Each participant has three minutes to introduce themselves and share whatever they want to bring to the table: a problem, a question, or an idea that is still taking shape.
There is no need to prepare slides or polish a speech; this is not a pitch, it is an invitation to think out loud.
Afterward, the conversation opens up.
Once everyone has introduced themselves, we begin looking for common ground: which problems recur, where differences emerge, which ideas resonate, and what collaborations might spark from there. Someone facilitates the exchange, but nothing is scripted — the discussion is built by those who take part.
And at the end, something remains.
Before closing, the group pauses to reflect on what is worth exploring further:
which problem emerged strongly?
Which idea started to gain traction?
What could be developed or connected based on what was discussed?
These takeaways are added to the collective outcome of NODE26.
