The Future is Here: Listening to Space

A binaural immersion born from sound research on the intersection of technology, space, and human perception.

This video is based on the full paper presented by Sol Rezza at the 29th International Symposium on Electronic Art (ISEA) 2024.

This binaural work serves as a sonic bridge between my theoretical research and spatial implementation. It explores the ‘architectural’ dimension of sound: how we inhabit digital spaces and how technology redefines our sense of presence. It is a meditation on the invisible structures that surround us.

By implementing advanced binaural spatialization, I created a sonic environment that feels personal and immediate. The goal was to submerge the listener in a 360° space where the boundaries of the digital and the physical blur. It’s an invitation to listen from within, using the proximity of the binaural field to create a sense of presence that standard stereo cannot achieve.

This piece is the sonic soul of my theoretical investigation on spatial perception. You can read the full text in my blog to understand the journey from thought to sound.
