Inundare

In uncertain times, forms of communication expand, codes are reconstructed, narratives become stronger than ever. We are a wave, an ocean in constant movement.

Inundare is an audiovisual performance commissioned for the hybrid festival MUTEK Argentina / MUTEK Barcelona (2021). In this work, the sound element is treated as a tide—a force that floods and penetrates the body beyond the limitations of words.

Mixing experimental electronics, voice processing, and kaleidoscopic visuals, the piece explores how communication and social understanding are in permanent transformation, nourished by technological and cultural shifts. It is an invitation to an omnidirectional journey where the sensorial constructs a shared space.

Created as part of the AMPLIFY Digital Arts Initiative, Inundare focuses on the delicate balance between minimalist textures and the expansive power of sound.

  • Format: Audiovisual Performance (Stereo to Immersive translation).

  • Core Technique: Advanced real-time voice processing and experimental synthesis.

  • Spatial Perception: Although presented in a digital-hybrid format, the sound design utilizes psychoacoustic principles to create an “omnidirectional” feeling, simulating a physical tide that surrounds the listener through spectral manipulation.

  • Collaboration: Commissioned by Mutek Argentina, Amplify DAI, and the British Council.

  • Original Title: Inundare ©

  • Premiere: May 6, 2021 | Barcelona / Buenos Aires (Hybrid Festival).
